What is the Attendant Care Plus Program?
If you have a long-term or permanent physical disability, the Attendant Care Program helps pay for a personal caregiver. You get to choose and manage your own helpers. The program covers care at home, work, school, or in the community, and it now also helps pay for other extra services or related expenses.
Who is this program for?
This program is for adults aged 18 to 64 with a severe physical or long-term disability.
To qualify, you must also meet at least one of these conditions:
- Have a paid job or run your own business.
- Be actively looking for work.
- Be enrolled in college, university, or a trade school/apprenticeship.
- Live in a nursing home (or similar facility) but want to move back into the community.
- Need home-care services to avoid moving into a nursing home (your doctor must confirm this).

Maryland’s OneStop website lets you manage state licenses, permits, and applications in one online hub.
To join the waiting list for the Attendant Care Program (ACP), follow these steps:
- Create an account: Sign up on the OneStop website using your name and email address.
- Submit a quick application: Log in, go to the home screen, and select "Maryland Department of Disabilities." Fill out the short form to add your name to the ACP waiting list.
- Watch your email: When a spot opens up, you will receive an email with a link to complete the full application.
