About Us

Mission

The Maryland Department of Disabilities Assistive Technology Program (MDTAP) helps people with disabilities, older adults, and their families get the helpful tools and technology they need.

What MDTAP Offers

  • Try and Borrow Equipment: Visit local technology libraries across Maryland, test out devices, get expert advice, or borrow equipment short-term to see if it works for you.
  • Free Gently Used Gear: Get free, gently used equipment through their high-tech Reuse Center.
  • Financial & Information Support: Apply for low-interest loans to buy equipment, or get one-on-one help finding other disability services.
  • Learning Resources: Attend training sessions and webinars.

Assistive Technology Advisory Council

AT Advisory Group Link

The MDTAP Advisory Council makes sure Maryland's technology program actually meets the needs of the people it serves. The group meets twice a year to help the state plan, run, and improve its assistive technology services.
